Patty Wagstaff is one of the most common names found on the air show circuit. Hands down one of the leading female aviation aerobatic pilots, Patty flies one of the most thrilling, low-level aerobatic routines in the world today. Since 1979 she has been flying aircraft. Patty's first flying lesson was in a Cessna 185 floatplane and since then she has earned her Commercial, Instrument, Seaplane and Commercial Helicopter Ratings. She is a Flight and Instrument Instructor and is rated and qualified to fly many airplanes, from World War II warbirds to jets.
The aircraft she uses during her airshow performance is the Extra 300 S. Built in Dinkslaken, Germany by Walter Extra, the 300S combines superb quality, maximum performance (that exceeds most fighter aircraft) and impeccable engineering into an aerobatic legend. With state-of-the-art carbon fiber wings, tail and control surfaces, a steel tube fuselage, and is powered by a Lycoming 330hp engine, the 300S is the only factory-built aircraft to consistently win against the fabled aerobatic specials of the former Eastern Bloc.
