Nikolay was born in 1956, is married and the father of Stanislav and Olga. He entered his first competition at the National Aerobatics Championships of Russia in 1980, when he also became a member of the Russian national aerobatics team.   Since then he has constantly participated in all World and European Aerobatics Championships, the Breitling WorldCup and the World Grand Prix of Aerobatics. His brilliant skill and artistry in the air has won the admiration of judges as well as press and spectators all over the world, along with many medals and awards. He is also qualified an an International Judge.
