The 2002 Wheels & Wings Aishow held at Millville, NJ was our
first airshow of the 2002 season. The weather turned out to be great with the
sun making an appearance the whole show. To open the show the B-2 Spirit made
three amazing passes. The list of performers include The Golden Knights, AH-64
Apache, C-5, Coast Guard HH-65 Demo, Red Baron, Mike Mancuso, Drew Hurley, The
Split Image, Flying Farmer, Roger Lehnert cartop landing, United States
Thunderbirds and many warbirds. Congratulations to David Schultz Airshows for a
wonderful show.
The AH-64 Apache is currently the United States Army premier attack helicopter. The Apache can carry up to 16 Hellfire anti-armor missiles as well as 30mm and 70mm guns.
The B-2 made an early morning appearance at Millville. Each B-2 cost the American taxpayers 2 billion dollars. Six B-2 aircraft carried 16 laser guided bombs over the ocean nonstop during the attacks on Kosovo.
The warbirds were out in force for the Wheels and Wings 2001 Airshow. Larry Kelly's B-25 Mitchell (a.ka. Panchito) doing the reenactment of the Doolittle Raid, Jim Beasley's P-51 The Bald Eagle, and last but not least a gorgeous TBM Avenger.
Roger Lehnert attempting a car top landing in his Cub. It took Roger about 6 tries to complete it. But he was successful.
One of the Atlantic City Coast Guard HH-65 Dauphin with a simulated basket rescue.
The United States Army Golden Knights perform at airshows, sporting events, and many other events all over the country.
A C-5 Galaxy from Dover AFB made a few fly-bys.
Other civilian performers included Mike Mancuso, Drew Hurley, and the Red Barons.
I would have to say that this performance of the Thunderbirds was probably hands down the best I have seen. Unable to take-off from Millville they launched from Atlantic City.
